Currently, there is no cure for Coats' Disease. Together, we can change that!

What will your donation accomplish?
~ Funding Research – is the costliest but a key part of what we do.
Your support will help us continue this important work to continue funding promising research, funding new research projects, and supporting young doctors and researchers to attend important conferences and encourage them to focus their specialties and research on Coats’ Disease. In 2024, we funded the most research at one time than ever before!
~ A Place to Turn To for Support
Imagine (or recall, if you are a patient or parent in the room) the feeling of your child or yourself being diagnosed with a rare disease. Even worse, a rare disease that that has no cure, your doctor doesn’t know anything about it or how to treat it, and your child is facing the loss of their vision or even their eye. Our Foundation is the saving grace for these families. We are the ones who they come to after a diagnosis – to learn about their disease, how they can treat it and helping them find a doctor, and to find a community of support and hope for their child’s future.
~ Raising Awareness
Do you know that the majority of pediatricians do not recognize the symptoms of Coats’ Disease? That’s why raising awareness among pediatricians and optometrists is critical to saving a child’s sight.
~ Staying Connected
It may sound obvious, but our website and social media channels provide critical information and support to all Coats’ patients – both newly diagnosed and those who have been living with Coats’ for some time. Without it, patients and parents couldn’t find us and the resources they need. But it costs money to maintain!
~ Every dollar makes a difference!
We are a lean and mean organization – no bricks and mortar! In fact, 94 cents of every single dollar donated goes back into our programs and services to Coats’ patients! Your support supports the continuation of the Foundation's overall efforts.
